Friday @ Rotofugi: Grand opening of the new space + “Playboy Redux” gallery show…

Yes! We noted a while back that the good folks at Rotofugi were moving their shop and gallery space to a new location. Well…that time has come. Rotofugi is having a grand opening of the new space this Friday, 27 August, at 2780 N. Lincoln Ave. in Chicago. (That’s the new location.) Along with the celebration is the opening of the “Playboy Redux” show in which contemporary artists interpret the iconic Playboy Bunny. The show features original work by tons of artists, including Shag, Tim Biskup, Jeremy Fish, Mike Giant, Ken Keirns, Jeremiah Ketner, Frank Kozik, Travis Lampe, Tara McPherson, Jeremy Tinder, and a whole lot more. Also note that Rotofugi will have new Rotofugi x Formula Werks T-shirts in the shop the day of opening. This includes new colors and restocks of all collabo items. See you there!

Time for another segment of “What’s Being Built”! Today we continue showcasing a few colourways of selected items built by customers, so you can see what people are doing, gain some inspiration, and build your own goodies. Sound good? Right.

This round features a few versions of our “Made in Chicago” T-shirt series with Loyal Locals, which you can customize for men, women, and kids in the online store. We grabbed a couple from a few different language versions: English, Spanish, and Italian. It doesn’t really stop there, though, as even more languages (and locations) are now available in the shop. Check out six selected samples we pulled from actual orders and see what your peers have been up to. Then, of course, build yours. Enjoy…

More goodness tonight in Chicago! First off, Revise CMW gets together with Jarrett Spiegel (Popstatic) for a two-man show at Beer Run Gallery. New works shall be shown, drinks shall be flowing, and DJ Intel shall be on the decks.

Secondly (but not second!), Veggiesomething is rollin’! For real. Really rollin’. Word on the street is that he’ll have works shown out of none other than a truck. That he painted. For real. For real, real. Ridiculous! This one is in conjunction with the fine folks over at HOTBOX mobile gallery.

Yes! This marks the final exhibit at Rotofugi’s current location, as they are moving to a bigger and better space later this month. (It’s ridiculously awesome, trust us.)
